Despite the persistence of her VA group counselor, the tough love of her mother and the levity of an unexpected love interest, Merit's cozy-dysfunctional friendship with Zoe...。故事发生在20世纪30年代的江南小镇，林白萍下班回家，发现自己的妻子林芷华竟然和自己的好友睡在一起。虽然愤怒，但林白萍依然相信妻子并不是故意背叛自己，只是情难自禁而已。 之后，林白萍辞掉了工作离家出走，来到了柳家小姐柳如烟家里成为了她的家庭教师。富家小姐的生活本就无聊，林白萍的出现成为了柳如烟枯燥生活的调味剂，两个人很快就走到了一起，不仅如此，柳如烟腹中还怀上了林白萍的孩子。可即便这样，林白萍还是放不下在家乡生活的妻子，在他返乡探望妻子的时候，柳如烟一气之下挺着肚子削发为尼。。
