故事发生在21世纪的20年代，裕和当铺老板朱华堂（李万年饰）经营有方，手握权财，生命里唯一不顺心的事情就是家里有一个不孝子朱辉正（王志文饰）。朱辉正从小在母亲的极度溺爱和父亲的极度严厉之中长大，精神非常的割裂，对父亲的所作所为并不理解的朱辉正想尽了一切方法要惹朱华堂生气，并且毫无限度的挥霍着父亲的钱财。 阿芳（吴丹饰）和田七（何冰饰）是自幼被卖到了朱家的佣人，受尽了苦楚，田七从很久之前就默默的爱慕着阿芳，希望有朝一日能够存够钱娶她为妻，与此同时，聪明伶俐的阿芳亦吸引了朱辉正的注意，使得他对其屡屡骚扰。而朱华堂竟然也打起了娶阿芳做妾的算盘。。The subtitle of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet’s first feature, from 1965, “Only Violence Helps Where Violence Reigns,” suggests the fierce political program evoked by their rigorous aesthetic. The pretext of the film, set in Cologne, is Heinrich Böll’s novel “Billiards at Half Past Nine,” which they strip down to a handful of stark events and film with a confrontational angularity akin to Bartók’s music that adorns the soundtrack. The subtlest of cues accompany the story’s complex flashbacks. The middle-aged Robert Fähmel tells a young hotel bellhop of persecutions under the Third Reich| his elderly father, Heinrich, an architect famed for a local abbey, recalls the militarism of the First World War, when his wife, Johanna, incurred trouble for insulting the Kaiser. A third-generation Fähmel is considering architecture, just as the exiled brother of Robert’s late wife, returns, only to be met by their former torturer, now a West German official taking part in a celebratory parade of war veterans. Straub and Huillet make the layers of history live in the present tense, which they judge severely. The tamped-down acting and the spare, tense visual rhetoric suggest a state of moral crisis as well as the response—as much in style as in substance—that it demands.。
