在试图欺骗一个已经运气不佳的人以赢得职场竞争后，一个能说会道的电话推销员会发现他正处于是否能通过谈话摆脱人质的处境，因为他自己的生命危在旦夕……。Howard Tyler (Frank Lovejoy) is a family man, living in California, who can't seem to get by financially. He meets up with a small-time, but charismatic, hood Jerry Slocum (Lloyd Bridges). Soon, Slocum convinces Tyler to participate in gas station robberies to get by. Later, they kidnap a wealthy man in hopes of getting a huge ransom. Things go wrong when the man is murdered by...。
