战国时代，有八位武士带着三千两黄金来到一个破落的村庄，却惨遭利欲熏心的村民们的杀害，许多怪异事情因而发生，人们便称这个村庄为“八墓村”。曾带领村民攻击八位武士的田治见庄左卫门，他的子孙——要藏在大正某年疯狂地残杀三十二个村民后，行踪成谜。二十几年后，“八墓村”仿佛被下了魔咒一般，再度演出惊悚杀人事件 。要藏地石棺里埋藏了传说中三千两黄金地证据——三枚金币，这三枚金币却让他的儿子辰弥陷入了恶魔的诅咒之中——八墓村即将追索他的牺牲者......八墓村村民连夜追杀辰弥，震天的杀声将辰弥逼入万劫不复的鬼火潭中。 究竟辰弥能否逃过这次劫难？暗藏幕后的真凶是何人？三千两黄金到底只是传说或确有其事？。The film was written and directed by Stuart Urban, and commissioned to mark the tenth anniversary of the Falklands War. The film was closely based on the historical record, and all of the major incidents portrayed were drawn from contemporary accounts by those who took part. Filming took place on the Falkland Islands and at Ealing Studios.
